A rainy day wasn’t going to rain on this wedding’s parade! Josh and Mallory had a gorgeous day at John Brown University and downtown Siloam Springs, and we enjoyed getting to catch up, hang out, and photograph such a special day. I actually work in the Cathedral Sanctuary at my JBU job, and though I’ve helped many weddings over the years, this was my first wedding to photograph inside of it! Stephen and I felt right at home with good company in a place we love.

The rain made the day especially unique (and fun!) for photos. I posted a couple months ago that rainy day portraits were a new favorite look, and I still stand by that today! God was gracious enough to give us only sprinkles while doing the bulk of the photos we wanted outside, so if you pay close attention, you’ll see the little raindrop glittering all around them in their portraits. 🙂

Here are some highlights of the day from our perspective…

With that veil as the final touch, she officially looked like a bride! Cue the happy tears!

Mallory’s bridesmaid, Madisen Stewart, MADE (that’s right, you read it correctly) Mal’s dress! She created from scratch the perfect dress for Mallory. I adore the unique touch of pink, and how the tulle swayed when she walked around. Gorgeous!

The boys looked amazing in their leather suspenders and bowties. I was in LOVE with the colors of the day!

Like I said, it was not raining on this parade; Josh walked so calmly as a downpour started in his groom photos. Good news: we made it back with enough time to dry off before the ceremony. 🙂

The ceremony was a special worship service, focused on singing, Scripture reading, and prayer. The Cathedral was a perfect venue for this, with its organ dominating the stage and stain glass surrounding the walls.
One of my favorite moments was when Josh got a glimpse of Mallory as she was walking down the aisle. Immediately, as Canon in D began on the cello and piano, he became teary. The moment they had been waiting for was finally here.

The reception was held at the local Community Building downtown, where candles and greenery graced the tables. It was a perfect tie-in to the colors of the bouquets and bowties!
